Harriet Spiegel

Harriet Spiegel is Professor Emeritus in Literature at the California State University at Chico. She received her doctorate in English from Brandeis University in 1976. She taught English and Medieval literature literature for many years  and has published a highly acclaimed edition and translation of the medieval Fables of Marie de France, several of which appear in Volume 1 of Women’s Works, by the gracious permission of Prof. Spiegel and the University of Toronto Press.  Her edition of Chaucer’s Troilus and Criseyde, co-edited with Professor James Dean of University of Delaware, will soon be published by Broadview Press.
