Donald W. Foster

Donald Foster, editor of Women’s Works, is the Jean Webster Professor of Dramatic Literature in the Department of English at Vassar College. He received his doctorate in English from the University of California in 1985 and has taught at Vassar since 1986.  He has taught also at the University of California (Santa Barbara), and at the FBI Academy (Quantico).  Prior to Women’s Works, Prof. Foster published three books and some forty articles on a wide range of topics, from classical literature to terrorism.  He is currently at work with other scholars on The Player’s Shakespeare, paperback editions designed for actors, directors, and students of drama.

Prof. Foster lives in Pennsylvania and New York with his wife Gwen, and their dog, Jack.
